Rehabilitation Home Loans
The Possibilities
The City of Dayton Human Relations Council and CityWide Building Finance are offering loans to residents of the Southwest, Innerwest and Northwest Priority Board Areas. Loans are available for down payment assistance or for making improvements to a home. The loans offer excellent interest rates and terms.
Rehab Home Loans can be used for the following:
- Resolving exterior housing/neighborhood code violations
- Resolving code violations for interior items related to safety and health
- Painting and siding improvements
- Tree trimmings and removal
- Electrical and lighting improvements
- Installation of railings and sidewalk improvements
- Existing attached garage rehabilitation if house repairs are addressed
- Roof, gutters and down spouts
- Window, door and chimney repairs
*Cannot be used for general remodeling
Rehab Home Loan Eligibility
- Only owner-occupied single-family homes are eligible
- Borrower must show ability to repay loan
Rehab Home Loan Terms
- Loans up to $25,000
- Maximum loan term is 15 years
Rehab Home Loan Interest Rates
- 1-4% fixed
Rehab Home Loan Security
- A mortgage will be placed on the property
- Secondary collateral may be required
Down Payment Assistance Terms
- Nominal down payment of $500
- Home Buyers Course may be required. Available through CityWide
- Deferred Loan-10% of sales price, up to a maximum of $10,000
Down Payment Interest rate:
- 1-4% fixed
Down Payment Terms:
- 10-year term, or upon sale or transfer of property, whichever comes first
